Photographing a Full Moon Resort wedding was always on my bucket list as a wedding photographer. When Marcy and Chris inquired about photographing their wedding in the Catskills Mountains, I was jazzed. And then when they told me about how they spent the last year traveling the world together and Chris had proposed to Marcy when climbing Everest? I was even more excited. See if you can spot some rocks from their Everest trek in any of the photos from Marcy’s getting ready 😉
Marcy works on the social media team for Jenny Yoo Bridal. Of course, her dress was going to be a dreaaaaam. The team called Marcy’s custom-designed dress “The Frankie” because it was a Frankenstein of Marcy’s favorite bits from the most popular dresses. They might even be making it a dress on the website! All of the bridesmaids gowns were also Jenny Yoo, color coordinated by Jenny herself.
Because of rain the night before, they were forced to move their ceremony from the outdoor grove under the trees to underneath a tent and pavilion. Understandably, everyone was also bummed about the opportunity to miss out on outdoor photos. After wrangling some confetti, our team came up with the idea to announce after the first kiss for all guests to follow the couple and wedding party into a field across from the tent. There, we gathered everyone in a circle while they cheered on Marcy and Chris who popped champagne and kissed. Thereby resulting in the most epic post-ceremony cheer photo EVER! See more below.
From the couple:
“WE LOVE THE PHOTOS! Perfectly captured the day and there are some epic shots in there. We had a lovely photo viewing session with drinks in hand and went through every last one of them. Thank you, Katherine and Kelsey, for being legends on the day, true professionals. Also, we wanted to thank you for coming up with alternatives for outdoor shots after the ceremony!
We were pretty bummed that the venue forced us to have the ceremony under that tent (wasn’t planned for that). You helped us troubleshoot and those outside shots with the champagne and everyone throwing the flower petals were awesome. So awesome that we already had the one-shot framed and hung on our wall. Thank you for being awesome and we never once regretted selecting you to be with us on our special day.
